Mixed Media Wood Panel

Hi, Carol Theng today sharing a mixed media wood panel I made using the colors from July Moodboard.

"Memories"

Gesso the wood panel and spread texture paste over a stencil. Misted with blue mist.

Left the chipboard raw and adhered with 3D heavy matt gel. Added the leaves and flowers. And dew drops.

Also added a few drops of glossy accent on the flowers to create dew effect.

This is a very simple and quick project done within 30 minutes. Do have a try.

Thanks for dropping by. Do join us for our July Moodboard Challenge. Have fun.

A little Tapestry Hoop and a Rubon!

Hi...  Bev here today.

I challenged myself to really step out of my box when creating this piece. I wanted something different to adorn a small tapestry hoop ... and then it occurred to me.

Rub on resist on canvas might be just perfect for this small  but cool home decor piece.

I wanted to share with you what I created ....

So let's go... rubon on image that will fit the tapestry hoop size in mind.

Now mist the piece.. I used 3 colours on my canvas.

Now take a piece of paper towel and gently wipe
off the misting that is over the rubon.

 Do this to the whole
rubon image... notice it is turning white with only the image showing.

Let the treated piece dry now. I gently heated this to dry but
don't apply too much heat over the rubon image.. you don't want to melt it.

Now the easy part starts..... before putting this into the hoop,
 I ink stamped the sentiment.

Centre the canvas into the hoop.. and tighten the screw to secure it.

Finish it off with some fun accents. On the outer edge I added ribbon and
ended with a tied loop knot to hang it from.
I then added stickles to the edge of the ring and a small button
and flower cluster was the finishing touch.

Well I enjoyed making and sharing this with you. Hope you'll try

the rubon resist technique on some of your projects....and do come back again.
