Scraplifting but using your own style - by CathyS

This month you have no doubt noticed that we have all been scraplifting out teammates. Well I chose to scraplift Lisa-Marie but then added the twist of my own style to the page too:

I really admire Lisa-Marie's many layers that she always uses on her layouts. They are very distinctive and so effective. This is the layout I was inspired by:

My only problem though is that I don't very often scrap single photo layouts so needed to find a way to incorporate multi-photos onto a single photo scraplift. You will see those three small photos on the bottom right, they were added after I had finished most of the layout... more in line with my style and just helped with telling the silly story. I also hand-journalled on my layout after I had photographed the finished page, just so that I would have the story, but it would be too personal to share here.

So my challenge to you is not to be scared of scraplifting a layout, but always remember to somehow make it your own and true to your style too.

Upcycle / Recycle items for your layouts | By Lisa-Marie Watling

Hi there friends and fans of Off The Rails!

It's no secret that our incredible craft can be a bit of a pricey one, so today I want to share with you how I incorporate everyday items to upcycle or recycle into my layouts, canvases, art journals and / or tags.  Honestly, not just from a money saving perspective, but also from a potentially sentimental point of view as well!  I hope that in doing so, I can inspire you to look a little further and include some rather unexpected items in your work!

Mixed Media Tag with Video with Lisa-Marie

Hi fellow artists and fans of off The Rails Scrapbooking!

Lisa-Marie here!  I'm so very, very excited to be on this amazing team and I'm very grateful for this opportunity!  I am EVEN MORE excited to be able to share with you today, my very first tutorial for a Mixed Media Tag I designed and made especially for Off The Rails Scrapbooking!

I'm an absolute sucker for texture and dimension (and making a messy mess!), as can plainly be seen with this tag.  I've included some of the 'after' photo's further down in this blog post, just for the sake of showing you some better 'close-up' shots. I do hope that I can inspire you with this tag!
