Hey there! Lizzy with you today to share a bit about how I made this page for the challenge over at Scrap Around the World...I've been going through old photos recently [I refuse to call them Vintage just yet!!!] & had been given some lace. Some MORE lace. And I rarely use lace....so I decided I'd better give it a go! And came up with this idea:
Rows of lace...BEHIND the photo....like a 'matt'. You can do this with ribbon, or washi, or even stamps! I have a few photos from this day, so I've used a glassine bag to store them & my journaling in.
I'm a great believer in building up my layers first THEN attaching them to my page....like this:
My base paper - which is Christmas paper - gets hidden once the 'butterfly' layer is attached.I've machine stitched on the lace, then heat gun glued the butterflies....odd ones I had hanging around....
...sprayed with Heidi Swapp color shine spray...the different textures created different colours, which was just fine!
That's me, 2nd from the left. I'm a big fan of journaling, too. This time I typed it up & popped it in the bag as well:
One more close up:
Another idea is to stick your title right on your photo, if you have some white space....I was going to place my letter stickers on a banner than attach it, but these are semi-translucent [Glitz] & they seemed to want to go right there on the photo! So I went along with that:)
Hope this gives you some inspiration in your own scrapping! Thanks for looking ~ & happy scrapping ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥
This is a lovely layout Lizzy, I love lace, and love the rows of it under your photo.. beautiful end result!
