Quick Christmas Tags with Brenda

Hello everyone and welcome to Off The Rails Scrapbooking Blog and my December Tutorial. If some of you are like me and leave somethings to the last minute this time of year then I'm sure this post will help you with some creative ideas for quick tags for the presents to jazz them up. 

For each of the tags I have used left over Christmas paper from other projects. I seem it have a lot of it over time and tags and cards are great for this. 

I used a chipboard tag and firstly painted it with Dylusions Paint - London Blue. If you are like me you want like waiting for paint to dry (or anything else for that matter) and remember these are quick tags. It was then out with the heat gun to dry it, yep just the trick. 

Next I used Modeling Paste with my Tim Holtz Bubble stencil, again the heat gun, hehe.

Next after cleaning the stencil I then placed it back over the top and with a brush I used Colour Blast - Colour paste - Snow White which give a love sparkle to each of the bubbles and made it look a little like snow. Of course I got out my heat gun again and dried the tag so as I could continue straight away working on the tag. 

Next I used Viva Inka Gold Rub - Violet. I love these rubs and they can be used on so many things. This time though I placed some on the tip of my finger and gently rubbed it here and there over the bubbles (not too much though, just a hint)

The next thing I did was cut some Christmas Decorations from the patterned paper. I find it easy to use a "Sharp" blade to fussy cut as it enables me to get into all the little places. 

Once they were cut it was time to put everything together starting with my silk metallic cotton. Next I placed three Christmas decorations one I glued direct to the tag and the other two I used dimension block. I then used a gold Zig Metallic pen and colored the clear pearls and the Chippie by Scrapmatts, placed them on the tag. Next I placed some lace across the bottom on a bow on the top. My tag was finished. It may seem like it was a lengthy process but give it a try and you will see it isn't. 

Now for tag #2 and this one is even quicker. Below are the items I used to create it and the only other two things were the patterned paper I fussy cut from and a bow. 

In this picture I have already glued the patterned paper to the chipboard tag and inked the edge. I then did some stitching around the edge with a journal pen. With dimension blocks I raised the fussy cut items on the tag, then the bow. Just to add a little sparkle I used a Wink Of Stella brush - Clear on the berries. Wella - Finished. 

I was on a roll and thinking of the Christmas presents my son had to give to his teachers and the tags I would need and quick so here is tag #3

I love this tag and honestly it was quick and easy. The only thing missing from the above photo is the Distress Ink - Barn Door and the patterned Christmas paper. 

The pictures I fussy cut out first and then cut the ends off the Kaiser wooden flourish. One of the ends I used at the top of the tag near the bow. 

First I covered the tag with Christmas heart paper and inked the edge. I then cut two smaller pieces of the patterned paper, distressed and inked them and placed them on the tag. Next I coloured the Christmas Blessings by Scrapmatts and the wooden flourish with the Distress Marker - Festive Berries and placed them on the tag. next all that was left to do was put a bow at the top and using again dimension squares I raised the fussy cut pictures and placed them on the tag. My tage was finished and ready for placing on the present. 

Now for tag #4 and my last. This tag was created with another chipboard tag, patterned paper, bow and a Kaiser sticker sheet. 

Like the other tags I covered it with the patterned paper, picked my picture from then I was going to fussy cut and then used dimension squares on it. I inked the edge of the tag with Distress Ink - Forest Moss, placed the Nut Cracker picture on and the bow. Next I chose the Christmas sticker and placed it at the bottom and again used the Wink Of Stella Clear on the berries. I cut up the words from the sticker sheet placed them on the tag and the also put Wink Of Stella on it. Just adding that little bit of sparkle to it.

I hope you have enjoyed my post and that I have been able to help you with some quick and easy last minute tags. Remember though if you have no chipboard tags then use cardstock as they are just as good and quick to make.
