Hi there Its Tanya here with a mixed media background Tutorial,
"You Rock the Flanny"
I have used some old chipboard alphabets, plaster tape a stencil ( i chose dots, but any you have will work) and Magicals by Lindy's Stamp Gang
First I put a thin coat of gesso on the area i wanted behind my photo. Then i glued down my alphas in a random pattern, stuck squares of plaster tape down and then using texture paste and a spatula I randomly applied the stencil. The key is to be a bit messy and remember there is no need for it to look perfect, you are after a messy grunge look
Once that is done coat everything with Gesso and allow to dry fully ( you can speed this up by using a heat tool)
Once dry use a clean brush and wet with clean water and dip the wet brush into the pot of Magicals and then put onto the page to create a random watercolour style finish ( i used 2 colours but you can use as many as you want, just watch that you dont "muddy" the colours)
Again dry everything well and then you can grunge up the background with a black stamp pad. Swipe it over raised parts of the background
Once you have that done you can add your photo and any embellishments you wish to complete the page.
"You Rock the Flanny"
Well that is all from me, thanks for stopping by and I hope you give this fun background a go!
